LED’s are making a dramatic impact on architectural design. LED’s can be used in both indoor and outdoor lighting applications. They offer the full use of the colour spectrum and therefore a limitless palette. LED's provide particularly directional light output and give the designer complete control to achieve the desired result from spot lighting detail to floodlighting large open spaces.

With the increased emphasis on energy efficient installations across the whole of Europe, part L of the UK building regulations states the requirement for the use of appropriate energy efficient lamps in both interior an exterior developments.

  • LED’s can produce a richer and more natural light and can produce millions of colours to suit your specific design requirement. It can be used both indoor and outdoor applications and performs reliably at different temperatures.

  • LED lighting is very directional and depending on your choice of product, can be used to highlight the smallest detail or flood light an entire space in a wash of colour.

  • LED light bulbs use different technology that enable them to produce a highly efficient and compact light using a fraction of the energy of other conventional bulbs and can last up to 25 times as long.

  • A very long lifespan of up to 50,000 hours means that the LED lamps in a lighting installation are completely maintenance free for over 5 years if used 24 hrs a day.

  • LED’s bulbs can be used as a direct replacement for existing inefficient bulb types without the requirement for changing the entire light fitting.

  • LED’s have no UV or IR radiation which means they create more environmentally friendly working environment.

  • LED’s are easy to dispose of as no harmful gases are used in the products therefore making them environmentally friendly and simple to recycle against current Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment regulations (WEEE).

Grants are available for both business and domestic projects to encourage the changeover to more energy efficient lighting. (visit www.eca.gov.uk for more information)
